Breakfast With Santa
Dec. 7: Breakfast with Santa at St. Matthew by the Lake Christian Preschool will be Saturday, December 7, from 7:00 – 11:00 AM. Tickets are $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for children ages 12 and under. There will be a silent auction with final bids closing at 10:30 AM. A raffle will be held and tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Located 3966 Hwy. 641 N., Benton. Breakfast with Santa & Frosty

Santa Claus is coming! Hey kids, be sure to come and visit Santa and Frosty as they stop by for breakfast with all the boys and girls in the Harbor Lights Restaurant. You can have your picture made with Santa and tell him what you would like under the tree on Christmas morning. All children will receive a small gift from Santa and a Christmas sugar cookie to decorate. Serving from 8 – 11 a.m. Adults $7.50, kids age 6-12 is $4.99, ages 5 and under are free. (Beverages and tax not included).
Calvert City Christmas parade rescheduled for Dec. 13
The Calvert City Christmas parade that was scheduled for Saturday night, December 7, has been cancelled and is rescheduled for Friday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m.
Parade line up will begin at 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Pathway Baptist Church. Judging of floats at 5 p.m. Awards for Best Use of Lights. Best Representation of the theme and outstanding entries will be given.
The theme for this year is "STARS" of Christmas. Stars can denote sacred or secular! Frosty, Rudolph, Mary and Joseph, the Christ Child, Star of Bethlehem are just some examples.
Local businesses, churches, clubs, organizations and individuals are invited to participate with lighted vehicles.
Of course the Marshall County High School Band and Middle School Bands will be there as well as Santa himself!
Marshall County Hoopfest
(Due to inclement weather, the Friday night Hoopfest games at Marshall County High School has been postponed. A new schedule is being planned for tomorrow. New information and schedule should be Friday by 5:00 p.m. WCBL and WCCK will also have updated schedule information.)

Visit Santa & Mrs. Claus at Kenlake
Dec. 8: Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit Kenlake State Resort Park on Sunday, December 8, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Canned goods will be accepted for Needline. Bring your camera. Bring your favorite Christmas book and Santa and Mrs. Claus will select a book to read to the children. Child-friendly lunch buffet will be served in the Aurora Landing Restaurant from noon – 3:00 p.m. Special price, adults $7.99, ages 6-12 is $4.99, under 5 is free! Dec. 12: FLW has been generous to Marcella's Kitchen and has set a tradition at this time of the year to have a fish fry for our friends at the kitchen. On Thursday, Dec 12, FLW will be hosting a fish fry for Marcella's Kitchen. Regular hours 11 AM-1 PM. Marcella's Kitchen is a COMMUNITY KITCHEN that will feed the hungry of Marshall County, KY and is a place for fellowship and friendship! Ministries Fast Track Workshop
Dec. 14: David Arthur CEO of Precept Ministries will be leading a Fast Track Workshop that will equip you to lead two of Precept's most popular study series in one affordable session. One is the 40 Minute Bible Study using "The Power of Knowing God' and the other is the New Inductive Study Series using "That I may know Him" (Colossians). Deadline for registration is November 13. A Dickens’ Christmas & Parade
Dec. 14: Benton Main Street and the City of Benton will host A Dickens’ Christmas and Parade on Saturday, December 14. Festivities begin at 2 p.m. for Cookies with Santa, and 4 p.m. the Power Wheels Car Show. Parade line-up at 4:30 and parade at 5 p.m. This year’s theme is “The Light Before Christmas”. Dickens Alley opens at 6:30 p.m. Roasted pig provided by Magic Valley BBQ. All activities between 10th and 12th Streets, downtown Benton. Dec. 15: The joint choirs of First Christian Church and Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church will be presenting a Christmas cantata, “Joy of Every Longing Heart,” by Travis Cottrell at First Christian Church at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. The churches invite the community to come and join in a musical message about the JOY that Christ brings to every one of us. Everyone is welcome. Bring your family, your friends, or even your entire congregation. The cantata consists of several well-known Christmas carols blended with new, contemporary songs. The Draffenville Lions Club Bingo is held every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. Concessions are available. Opens at 5:30 p.m. starts at 6:00 p.m., at the Draffenville Community Center behind Johnny’s Barber Shop on Hwy. 68.
