WKCTC Information Event at Calvert Library
June 17: West Kentucky Community and Technical College is offering a free evening information event at Calvert City Library, June 17 from 3 – 6 p.m.
WKCTC representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide assistance with admission and enrollment process, financial aid, scholarship opportunities, available programs, services and more.
Students who register for classes and need to apply for financial aid need to bring proper documentation including ACT scores, transcripts and tax information. If unable to attend the evening events, stop by WKCTC campus to register for classes. Beginning June 2, walk-in hours for WKCTC’s START Center, Financial Aid, admissions/records, advising and business offices is Mon, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Tuesdays - Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

MCHS Cheerleaders Car Wash
June 21: Marshall County High School Cheerleaders will be hosting a Car Wash on Saturday's, June 21, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. In the parking lot of Country Chevrolet. A donation of $5 per car wash.
AmeriBration 2014 Beauty Pageant
The AmeriBration beauty pageant will be held Monday, June 30 at 6:00 p.m. at the Calvert City Civic Center. Sponsored by Calvert Area Development Association (CADA). Click here for more information.

Teen Summer Reading Program
The Marshall County Public Library Teen Summer Reading Program is for students who have completed grades 6-12, and provides fun reading challenges, weekly programs and an end of summer mega event. You could also win a $200 gift card.
Sign-ups begin June 1 at all three branches of the library in Benton, Calvert City and Hardin. Program runs from June through July with six weekly programs starting the 2nd week of June (no programs the week of Fourth of July). Babysitting Safe Sitter classes
June 20 and 27: Baptist Health Paducah is offering Safe Sitter classes for boys and girls, ages 11-14, this summer.
Safe Sitter is a medically-accurate babysitting course that teaches young teens life and safety skills. The one-day class is taught by Certified Safe Sitter instructors.
Classes will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 20 and June 27. The $30 fee includes lunch and supplies. Class size is limited, so pre-registration is required. To register, phone 270.575.8444 or e-mail email@example.com.

Taste of Marshall County tickets now on sale
June 24: “Taste of Marshall County” Benefits the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Join us on June 24 at the large pavilion in Mike Miller Park in Draffenville, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tickets $10.00 each, 6 years and under are free. 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Youth Run
June 28: The AmeriBration 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Youth Run in Calvert City will be held Saturday, June 28, beginning at the Calvert City Civic Center. The timed 5k will start at 8 am, and the timed youth run will begin at 9. Awards will be held at 9:30.Proceeds will benefit the Marshall County Family Resource and Youth Service Centers, which will help to purchase school supplies for the Back To School Bash. The Bash serves students in elementary - high school. Many schools have running clubs, so we want to encourage students, parents, teachers and school staff to come out and support us!

Join TeamKID at CCUMC
The Calvert City United Methodist Church will begin TeamKID Wednesday nights from 6-7 and Sunday mornings from 10-10:45. The theme of TeamKID is "Jumping the Hurdles" where children will learn how to get over the hurdles in life with God's help. It will be a great time of games and learning about ourselves, others and God. We invite any child in grades kindergarten through fifth grade to join us for TeamKID.
